Dr. Lynda & Dr. Chuck

Dr. Chuck and Dr. Lynda grew up in a small farming town in the Midwest called Lincoln, Illinois. They are childhood sweethearts since the age of 14 and knew they would be dentists by the time they graduated high school. For a little fun and the whole story, you can read their full bio here

Tiffany started with us as a Dental Assistant in 2003 and now leads our Dental Assistants as Fiddlehead’s Chief Clinical Officer.  If she’s not wowing everyone with her masterful dental knowledge and love of teeth, you may find Tiffany lifting weights, teaching spin classes, and rocking out to all genres of music. She loves being active and soaking up the sunshine on her motorcycle!

Erin is Fiddlehead’s Chief Happiness Officer, her dream job! She shares her knowledge of laboratory science, hospital administration — and most importantly — her warm enchanting way of being in the world. Erin works hard to make sure our patients and team have a good day, every day! She loves spending time with her husband and daughter on Lake Champlain, exploring trails, strolling through town, cuddling on the couch, and dancing in the kitchen! She enjoys music, yoga, photography, graphic design, and woodworking!

Samantha is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has a been with Fiddlehead since 2010! Samantha specializes in communicating with her patients and making them feel safe and comfortable. When not making sure her patients' teeth are in the best shape they can be, Samantha might be cheering in the stands while her three kids lead the charge in the local sports teams. Or she may be working with her husband in their family’s sugar bush, taking beautiful photos, or playing with her beloved yellow labs.

Hillerie came to Fiddlehead in 2020 as one of our Traditional Dental Assistants, bringing her 23 years of experience to the team! A lifelong resident of St. Albans, she’s known the doctors since she was little. Hilerie joined us after leading the school outreach program at Burlington Community Health Center for 12 years and has a unique calm that helps our younger patient feel at ease. Grownups, too, appreciate her focus and no-nonsense approach. Hilerie loves traveling, staying active, relaxing on beaches, and especially spending time with her family! She’s a proud mom of two kids and two pit bull fur babies.

Katie is the bright presence in the Fiddlehead Welcome Room! As a member of the Front Desk Team, she adds 7 (and counting!) years of dental assisting experience to Fiddlehead's panel of experts. Katie has a full-house in Highgate where she lives with her husband and son, their tibetan mastiff, three cats, and brood of chickens.  She loves Vermont country life and is always excited to learn about fun things to explore in Franklin County!

Tom has been a Registered Dental Hygienist with Fiddlehead since 2017 adding his many years of impeccable experience to the practice. His dental knowledge, coaching skills, and straightforward manner earn him lifelong patients. You will leave your cleaning with a shining smile and a deeper understanding of how to maintain the sparkle. Tom is an engaged community member and caring parent. In his limited free time he won't be found, as he is typically enjoying the beautiful Vermont weather while stacking firewood at his home.

Allie is one of our Rockstar Registered Dental Hygienists! Allie’s special magic is in her ability to make everyone around her feel calm and safe. Her high standards, work ethic, and her commitment to patient care make her the perfect fit for the Fiddlehead Team! A lifelong Vermont resident with family and friends all over Franklin County, she lives in Highgate with her husband (the MVU varsity boys hockey coach) and her two labs.

Jay is a part of the Fiddlehead Front Desk team! She comes to the desk with extensive dental experience, starting as an Assistant and then spending years in Dental administration. If you have a question and Jay doesn’t know the answer believe us when we can say she will find out for you! Jay has the perfect balance of knowledge, kindness, helpfulness and a sense of humor. Her favorite part of being at work are the giggles we find along the way! When not hard at work she is hard at work having fun with her family, making music with her beautiful singing voice, gardening and playing with her puppies! She also enjoys volunteering and advocating for women and children.

Lea is one of Fiddlehead’s Traditional Dental Assistants. Lea has been a TDA for 13 years. She LOVES TEETH, helping our patients love their smiles, and she loves the variety that every day assisting at Fiddlehead brings! She loves the outdoors and once took a few years off to work as an Arborist (tree trimmer) on powerlines! In her downtime you can find her slinging mud in her jeep, snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, and making restaurant quality meals for her family.

Candi is Fiddlehead’s Chief Perspective Advisor and Lead Registered Dental Hygienist. Candi was a Fiddlehead patient since our doors opened in 1988 and then recruited as a valued member of the team in 1990. She started her lifelong career as a Registered Dental Hygienist after graduating from the UVM Dental Hygiene program in 1991. Candi has been Fiddlehead’s guardian angel over the past few years, making sure we had the PPE and materials to keep our patients and staff safe during the shortages! Her home is Fairfield, VT, where she resides with her husband Jon. Their three children are the sixth generation to live and work at Nestlenook farm. In our opinion, Candi strikes the perfect balance between talented dental hygienist and passionate Vermont Maple advocate! (The secret is brushing and flossing!)

Do you have someone in your life who loves highlighters? You do now! Kimberly has been a friendly face at the Fiddlehead Front Desk since 2018, and now works behind the scenes to keep the gears running smoothly! She keeps up the Fiddlehead momentum and excitement for technology. Outside of work, Kimberly loves snuggling her kiddos, listening to podcasts, staying organized, and singing along to country music on the radio with a chai latte in hand! Kimberly lives in Enosburg with her husband and daughters.

Mandi found her home in the Fiddlehead Family in 2022 and you will recognize her eyes smiling at you from the front desk when you cross our doorstep! She brings a smile and a laugh to every interaction and we appreciate her years of leadership, training, and customer service experience! Mandi loves to meet new people and learn their stories. She loves to read and to make artist’s books. She spends her free time with her family in Franklin, where she and her husband are renovating their 170 year old house, making music, and laughing at their goofy cats and dogs.

Here's some of the fun that we have together...

Take a look as just a tiny sampling of the crazy fun we have had with various team members over the years; all of them excellent, skilled and serving others as their first priority. This is a look behind the scenes at our own special way of growing and learning together over the years in our 3 hour, monthly staff meetings,.. our annual planning days,... and our team parties!....

at a recent annual planning day, we all came dressed as our favorite super hero and spent the day in costumes learning and planning for the coming year.

one of the games we played was a relay race to run to the end of our huge waiting room and change into our scrubs, out of our superhero costumes, in telephone booths that dr. chuck made out of REFRIGERATOR boxes!

one year we peeled onions as fast as we could for an exercise in a team meeting.... all crying and laughing at the same time! Then we made soup!.. a metaphor for the way a good team works together through thick and thin.

Annual Planning Day 2015 "We like to have fun too."

1997 christmas card photo. miles and miles of smiles!

we tied ourselves in a knot and somehow found our way out of it without letting go of any hands.

the ulrich / verderber clan show off some of the items at the community yard sale that fiddlehead hosts every year!

food is always part of our fun!

never a dull moment!.. instead of a "normal" staff meeting to review osha regulations, we dreamed up a game of "clue" and had everyone as one of the game characters. never has any business team had so much fun reviewing boring, but important safety material!

We don't just have an ordinary osha review meeting... we came in full costumes from the "clue" game and played clue for an afternoon while answering osha questions.

we always include some crazy team-building projects in our staff meetings. here the team was challenged to build the tallest tower they could design, from single sheet of paper.

a holiday party across the border at a delightful french restaurant.

anything can happen at fiddlehead!.. several years ago, one of our team members was surprised by a proposal of marriage in our waiting room! now the happy couple has 3 children!

we have a "secret food spot" in our office where almost no one can see us snacking! :) (Only healthy snacks, of course!)

we often host local school children who come by to tour the office and learn a little about taking care of their teeth.

one year we took the entire team to a "ropes course", where we spent the day climbing in trees and playing team building games to improve leadership and relationships.

climbing in the trees! yikes!

there's not enough fun in the world!.. the team plays a holiday game at one of our terrific holiday parties.

dr. lynda and dr. chuck relax after the fun and games at a holiday party.

in 2012, we surprised our team by setting up a fabulous picnic in a patient's orchard and there we spent a day having a team meeting and planning for the coming year.

dr. chuck serves CAMPAIGN elegantly to our team at the beautiful lunch we created in the orchard.

dr. lynda has made the office more beautiful and homey by framing dozens and dozens of her photographs. here we have dr. chuck with a wonderful patient who was moving to hawaii, so one of our team members just grabbed a photo off the wall and gave it to here as a going away present to remember vermont.

Every year we host a city-wide yard sale to benefit our battered women's shelter. on this day in 2014, for some reason, a beauty queen came by for a while and graced the event! (we never did figure out why she was walking around town randomly!)

the team wears their hard hats for fun on the day that we had almost no septic access. This is typical of our team: making lemonade out of lemons!

dr. chuck can wear many hats! here he digs up the office septic line to clear a blockage that put the office without sewer access for a business day.

at some staff meetings we need to deputize a few people to keep us on track!

Staff meetings are never dull. Our CEO, Robin, gets the prize for the best completely crazy, but perfect solution to one of our long standing challenges!

One year for our team christmas card, we made everyone a set of false teeth that made us look like quite a motley crew!

Dr. chuck gets in the spirit at one of our hilarious team holiday dinners.

Never too busy to have some fun!

One of our earliest holiday team photos. circa 1990!

On a very wet day, we sent Maggie out to get coffee and donuts for the city workers that were re-building the sidewalk on our street.

our team Wins the "best dressed" category at the annual st. albans glow run!

In 2010, our family worked the entire 4th of July weekend to landscape and then build the famous fiddlehead dinosaur, named "fern". The boys did the yard work and the girls welded up the monster!
