Removable Smile Make-Overs
Affordable "Make-Overs" are possible for VERY badly worn down teeth....
BEFORE AFTER
This gentleman really needed $26,000 worth of crowns to restore his function and cosmetics. You can see in his "BEFORE" picture, that he had waited too long and his teeth had worn down by 70%.
THIS IS VERY COMMON DENTAL SITUATION IN PEOPLE OVER 65. He thought his only affordable option was dentures.
OUR PLAN:
- 1. We used common fillings to stop all the tooth decay
- 2. We made him a bite splint that he wore for 3 months to test a new bite (you must be sure the jaw joint can function happily in the new position)
- 3. We made him a removable "Partial Denture" (with that new bite built-in) that covered his lower teeth entirely - restoring function AND cosmetics at the same time.
To turn back the clock THIRTY YEARS his expenses were around $3400 (instead of $26,000!)
Now he can chew his food normally without fear of teeth breaking, and he has avoided many eventually root canals or extractions.
Here's what the partial denture looks like when it's out of the mouth..
Strange... but wonderful from his perspective. He is thrilled!
As you can see, this "splint/partial denture" covers his weak back teeth with very hard metal to build them back up to the original height, and this metal surface can withstand his powerful biting forces. Then the "grill" on the front teeth restores cosmetics and gives him "cutting" edges on his front teeth (long ago lost to the wear) so he can bite into a sandwich or an apple again!
** He is so devoted to this new way of chewing and smiling that he won't let us keep it for a day or two to make a few minor adjustments.
If you know someone over 60 with teeth that look worn down like this...
tell them to just call us for a consultation.
We have been changing lives with this technique.
THE FOLLOWING PICTURES SHOW ANOTHER AMAZING TRANSFORMATION WITH THE HELP OF AN INGENIOUS PARTIAL DENTURE.. (This 70 year old man had been told by dentist after dentist that his "bite" was too unusual to ever expect to have a nice smile, so he had given up,.. until I was visiting his business had he got the courage to ask me what I thought about his problem. Of course, I loved the challenge and WOW!.. I even surprised myself with this make-over! And you can see by the following photos that he looks 20 years younger!)...
Here's the answers to some Common Questions that I get about this partial denture:
No, he won't get cavities under the partial - as long has he takes excellent care brushing with a prescription Fluoride toothpaste
Yes, this will stop his real teeth from needing root canals and breaking even further.
Looks like a mouthful,.. but he says that after 3 days, he didn't even know he had it in any more. (It's like learning to wear contact lenses.)
He wears if all day, but leaves it out at night.
We are soon to have an "IN HOUSE" lab man so we can do even more and quicker make-overs with partial dentures.
