1993 to ....
FUNNY HOW THINGS WORK OUT!...
- Kyle and Liesl were born 7 days apart in 1993.
- Their working mothers were therefore able to take 3 months of maternity leave, at the same time, to avoid inconveniencing their team and patients at work.
- ??? Was there something spooky to explain this terrific team effort at the timing of conception? That has always been a running joke in the office. :)
- Kyle and Liesl spent the first 2 years of their lives together with their amazing nanny - Audrey Ward. (Who we all love to pieces!)
- They napped, spit-up, rolled over, pulled themselves up, and took some of their first steps in a nursery upstairs at Fiddlehead Dental.
- Liesl was a pincher,... which inspired Kyle to be a biter.
- Liesl stole a blanket of Kyle's and it became her favorite "blankie". (Sshhh!... She doesn't want me to tell you that she still keeps it on her bed to this day. Does Kyle have any secrets from those days??? You'll have to ask him!)
- All through their K-12 years, both Kyle and Liesl have seemed like very similar, unique "old souls": never causing their parents much ringing of hands, or gnashing of teeth.
- Both Kyle and Liesl became exceptional students and basketball players. (Kyle goes to MVU High School, up the road in Swanton, and Liesl goes to BFA High School here in St. Albans.)
- Both were selected to be on the 2011 Coaches Association All-Star Teams for the top Senior Basketball players in the state of Vermont.
- On Saturday, March 27 - Both Kyle and Liesl were completely surprised when they were called out onto the gym floor, at the VBCA North/South game, and told that they were each awarded a scholarship as two of the top four outstanding student/athletes in the state for 2011.
- And here's the funny thing.... Kyle Lumsden is the 17 year old son of Robin Lumsden, our Fiddlhead's Chief Operating Officer !!!!!
- Robin, Chuck and I have been loving our work together and watching our babies grow into nice young adults for 22 years!
Who Knew!!... When these two little guys were pinching and biting, that someday they would share this terrific honor for scholarship and athletic excellence on the same day, in a gym in Vermont.
