Fiddlehead Thumbs-Up Award

Everyday we get wonderful feedback from our patients about the "good vibes" in our office. We work very hard to make sure every single patient feels like they are the only person we saw that day.

Our entire team is always on the look out for extraordinary businesses and places that serve others like we do,… so on this web page we want to pass on our recommendation for places and products that we find remarkable.

We wanted to make a place here for our team to recommend specific businesses, products or services that our staff has personally experienced as a terrific value.

Here are our staff picks….

The Fiddlehead Thumbs-up Awards go to:

January 2010 The Courtyard Café at Northwestern Medical Center.

Yes!... You read that right!.... Our staff had a meeting lunch in their “courtyard” public dining room and we were so pleasantly surprised. The staff there was SO nice. The food was very, very good and it was very reasonably priced.  It was quick and the atmosphere very pleasant. It was nothing like the institutional food and service you would expect in a hospital.  We’ll all go their again on our own. I can see Dr. Chuck and I popping up there for lunch once a week! (We’re “food geeks”, so that’s saying something!)

Great Job to the team there!

March 2010
     Tatro's Sandwich Shop

This is a great "newish" little business in town that we have been delighted to support for lunches at our staff meetings. No one is ever disappointed. Very good value for portion size. They get the large orders right (a big deal in our office) and good healthy choices and ingredients. Tatros's delivers for orders over $25! (Tell your boss!)   Or take the family there as a change instead of Subway.  You can find them on Kingman St. in downtown St. Albans.

July 2010      St. Albans Farmer's Market in the Park

Our summer, fall and once-a-month Farmer's Market in St. Albans is AMAZING!  I've stopped cooking on Saturday nights because I always seem to pick up some delicious ethnic food on Saturday morning's at the park market. There is a gal there cooking Puerto Rican food that is SO wonderful. Her 11 year old son is such a salesman that he always inspires me. There are several booths with the most wonderful deserts imaginable. There is another booth from the Euro Restaurant in Essex. This gal brings up the most delicious greek food, plus stuffed peppers, eggplant parm, deserts. Then there's the produce and jams, and crafts if you want to get inspired to cook or buy gifts.... Lovely location in the park too. I always feel lucky to be alive when I stroll through that market.
